One of the biggest issues some people with mental illness face is the availability of supportive housing. Having a mental health condition can make finding and keeping a home challenging. Having a safe and secure place to live is an important part of recovery, along with access to services that enable those with mental health conditions to live as independently as possible.
Therapist and Mental Health Professional, Shanta Hobbs founded Creative Care WI, LLC with a vision to bridge the gap between those that live with mental health conditions and available housing. Hobbs has a passion for caring for others. In 2006, Hobbs began her career in the mental health field at the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division. In 2012, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Care Administration. Through her career journey at the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division she was able to experience the most vulnerable people within the community.
Hobbs returned to school to obtain her Master Degree in Education-Counseling. After a total of nine years at the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division, Hobbs made a career change to work in the Milwaukee County Sheriffs Office. Again, firsthand she was able to experience the most vulnerable people of the community. Hobbs was also able to experience the cycling of people with mental health conditions. Many were institutionalized due to housing displacement and the community's lack of awareness.
In 2018, Hobbs transitioned her career to a human service agency where her career entails residential program management, rehabilitative services, individual and group therapy. Hobbs plans to continue her vision and help the community one person at a time. Creative Care WI, LLC has developed the right combination of comfort, care, safety and quality. Our strength is caring. Our focus is you.
